
Martin defeated Fennville 53-34 Friday night in the second girls’ varsity basketball encounter between this two teams this season.
The Lady Clippers started slowly offensively, leading only 7-5 at the end of the first quarter, and they were up 23-18 at intermission. They continued to pull away in the second half to push their overall season record to 11-2. Their only two losses this season have been to Class C schools, Delton and Gobles. Martin is in Class D.
Junior guard Kiaya Warner and Freddie Elkins both scored 10 points to lead Martin offensively. Briana

Warner netted eight points and Gracie Shettler and Jordyn Seiser both added six.
Elkins hauled down eight rebounds and Faith Guritz had seven, as the Clippers enjoyed a huge advantage in that statistic. Kiaya Warner aslo came up with four steals and Guritz and Jaclyn Hildebrand both had three assists.
