Martin’s softball team dropped its double header Monday against Kalamazoo Christian yo have its season record evened at 8-8.

The Comets took game one 7 to 2 and posted a 4 to 0 shutout in the nightcap.

The Clippers’ Sophia Shettler struck out 7 and gave up 5 earned runs in game one. Kalamazoo Christian took a run early in the first inning and Martin responded in the third. The Comets broke the tie in the fifth inning, bringing home three runners, and Kalamazoo Christian didn’t look back.

The second game didn’t go any better for Martin. Sophomore Kiaya Warner pitched the second game and struck out 8. A strong defensive effort on behalf of the Comets held Martin zero runs and the Clippers weren’t able to get past second base.

At an even 8-8, the Lady Clippers plan to face Fennville Thursday.
