The Martin girls’ varsity basketball team improved its overall season record to 8-1 Monday night with a 37-30 triumph at Coloma in a makeup of a ballgame postponed by bad weather earlier this year.

Though the customary defensive specialist, Jaclyn Hildebrand got to be the top offensive player for the Lady Clippers, dropping in 14 points, including a three-pointer. Faith Guritz scored seven points and was perfect again at the free throw line, Kiaya Warner had six and Grace Shettler added a three.

Martin earlier this season at home defeated Coloma 46-40. The Clippers this time led 11-6, 18-12 and 27-23 at the period stops.

Martin Tuesday evening will be at home to play against non-league opponent New Buffalo.
