Martin girls started fast at Coloma and ran away with the league ballgame Friday, 42-18.
Martin boys, weren’t as successful, losing 61-48 to the Comets and watching their overall season record slip to 4-5.
The Lady Clippers raced to a 26-6 advantage in the first three periods.
“I was very proud of the way we played tonight,” coach Ben Schipper said. “It was a great team win! We did a much better job of denying cutters and being aggressive on offense.
Bri (Warner) got her offensive game going again tonight with 12 points, getting great looks off the dribble and moving without the ball. Cirsten Coburn hit some shots for us tonight and came away with several steals.
“We moved the ball extremely well against their zone forcing them out of it quickly. Great defense effort holding them scoreless well into the second quarter. and to only 6 through 3 quarters.
“We are giving great effort in practice and it’s leading to drastic improvement on the court.
Backing Warner in the scoring department were Gracie Shetler with 11 points and Coburn with 10.
The Lady Clippers now are 5-4 for the season overall.
