
The Martin girls’ track team scored two victories Wednesday in a double dual meet against Delton and Lawton, but the boys lost in both of their contests.
The Lady Clippers won 87-43 over Lawton and defeated Delton 78-55. The guys, however, lost 78-58 to Lawton and 103-34 to Delton-Kellogg.
Individual highlights for the Martin girls were:
Sara Schipper and Torryn Harris went 1-2 in the 400-meter run with Schipper’s winning time at 1:07.43.
Schipper took first place in the 800-meter run with a clocking of 2:57.94 and teammate Emma Dettman was second.
Veyda Conley was first in the 1600 with a time of 5:28.03 and teammate Allison Rodgers was second. Conley won the 3200 in 12:12.49 and Rodgers and DuRae Sage make it a sweep by taking second and third, respectively.
Alice Kadlecova was runner-up in both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles.
Kyleigh Buell, Ashlynn Maka Aliyah DeGlopper and MycKenna TenHaaf hooked up to take the 800-meter relay in 2:11.37.
Torryn Harris, Riley Bender, Sara Schipper and Conley captured first in the 1600-meter relay in 4:52.99.
DuRae Sage, Allison Rodgers, Emma Dettman and Conley won the 3200 relay by more than a minute in 11:47.10.
Aliyah DeGlopper took the shot put at 30-3.
Martin boys have rough day
The Clipper guys were able to muster a 1-2 finish in the high jump with Lucian King clearing 5-7. About the best they could otherwise was a couple of second places in the throws by Payton Shuring-Harris, Xander Ruiter finishing second in the long jump as did Jadon Dettman in the 3200.
