The Martin High School varsity softball team swept a doubleheader against Fennville Thursday, winning game one 6 to 1 and game two, 12 to 2.

Fennville struggled to muster offensive effort throughout the battle against the talented pitching of senior Sophia Shettler and sophomore Kiaya Warner. Shettler led her team to a convincing victory in game one, striking out 12 and allowing one earned run. Warner came on to hurl game two to strike out 10 and allow no earned runs.

The Clippers scored a total of 18 runs. Kiaya Warner and Lilly Willmarth both totaled four while Madi Dortch, Jordyn Seiser and Faith Gurtiz added two apiece.

The Lady Clippers, now 10-8, will continue their roadshow with a stop in Gobles Monday and Burr Oak Wednesday.
