In a game between two fifth-place teams, Martin was down 27-25 to start the fourth quarter and then outscored its opponent 14-5 in the final eight minutes thanks to 7 clutch points from Maddy Bogdan and 5 from Makala Goddard.

Bogdan and Gracie Shettler led the Lady Clippers with 13 points each, Goddard had 11 and Avery Jager had 2.

“The offensive attack came from three players, but our defense was a great team effort after we finally started closing out on (No. 4) with some urgency and a high hand,” said coach Ben Schipper. “We handled their pressure well and really found our aggressiveness attacking the rim in the fourth quarter. It was such a great way to end the regular season and propel us into the post season.”

The Lady Clippers will be host for the districts next week and will enter the tourney with a 9-11 overall record.
