The Hopkins girls’ varsity cross-country team Wednesday finished fourth among six teams competing in the latest O-K Silver Conference jamboree at the South Christian High School athletic complex.
The Lady Vikings picked up 73 points, well ahead of Comstock Park and North Pointe Christian, but well in back of meet winner Sparta with 46.
Sophomore Helena Kerber again paced Hopkins by taking seventh place with a 5K time of 21:02.44. Freshman Kambria Moored was eighth at 21:31.79.
Rounding out the Lady Vikings’ scoring were Jaeden Harshberger 14th, Neveah Helderop 16th and Abigail Zalis 29th.
The Hopkins boys took fifth among the five teams with 114 team points. Sparta finished first.
Senior Adam Ball led the Vikings in 14th place in 18:25.64. Caleb Beilby was 29th, Kenyon Katje 33rd, Nathan Onderlinde 34th and Ryan Williams 36th.
