The Hopkins girls’ basketball team continues to improve despite having just one senior.

The Lady Vikings registered their fourth victory in their last five games and evened their season record at 4-4 with a 73-66 verdict over Grandville Calvin Christian. They are now 2-0 in the O-K Silver Conference.

Hopkins led 25-20, 45-37 and 56-50 at the three period stops in a high-scoring affair.

The Lady Vikes played unselfishly, sharing the ball and finding the open scorer,” coach John Robinson noted. “They worked hard defensively, but give Calvin a lot of credit for hitting some tough shots.”
Hopkins had nine players reach the scoring column. Senior point guard Kennedy Helderop led the parade with 27 points. Samantha Sebright contributed 17,  Lexi Teunnisen added seven and Evangelina Helderop had six.
