Lady Vikings come from behind to defeat Belding best 3 of 5

The Hopkins varsity volleyball came from behind Thursday evening to defeat Belding in the opening O-K Silver Conference match for both teams.

The Lady Vikings fell behind 2-1 in after the first three games, but forced a fifth game with a gritty 25-22 decision and then won 15-11 in the last game to take the match. Hopkins won the opening game 25-22, but then lost two in a row, 25-15 and 25-16.

The verdicts left Hopkins with an 11-10-2 record overall and 1-0 in the Silver.

Hannah Van de Roovaart dished out 42 assists; Lexi Merren had 28 kills, Meghan Schulz/Mikayla Bulich 8 apiece;
Van de Roovaart 4 serving aces; Schulz/ Bulich 5 each in blocks; and Merren 27 digs, Mikayla Bulich 19 and Hailey Shank 15.
