Lady Vikings come from behind to win again, finish season

The Hopkins varsity volleyball team again battled from behind to take a dual match victory Tuesday evening.

The Lady Vikings this time spotted Allegan two sets to none before winning the next three to register a non-league triumph in the annual “Pink Out” contest calling attention to breast cancer.

The scores were 23-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23 and 15-12. The verdict left Hopkins with a final regular season record of 48-6-4 and the O-K Silver Conference championship.

The Lady Vikings will be among other teams competing in the district tournament on their home floor next week. The contests will be at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and the finals will get under way at 6 p.m. Thursday. Visiting teams will include Allendale, Hamilton, Holland Christian, Wayland and Hudsonville Unity Christian.
