Payton Nichols attempts to deliver a serve for the Lady Vikings.

The Hopkins varsity volleyball team took a crucial step toward winning the O-K Silver Conference championship Wednesday evening in a Parents’ Night victory over visiting Wyoming Lee.

The Lady Vikings prevailed 24-6, 25-3 and 25-8 to lift their league record to 6-0. If they can take the conference tournament, they will take all the marbles. They’ll go into the league competition in first place after all dual matches. They expect stiff competition from Calvin Christian and NorthPointe Christian.

Hopkins, now 44-6-4 overall for the season, will be host for the league tournament Saturday.

Individual statistical leaders were:

• Kills: Brianna Miller 16, Natasja Terpstra 11, Ashley Bultema 7, Lindsey Bulich 4, Mady Weber 2, Corrie Wisser 1.

• Aces: Corrie Wisser 8, Ashley Bultema/Lindsey Bulich 5, Emma Martonosi 2, Brianna Miller/Payton Nichols/Evangelina Helderop 1.

• Digs: Brianna Miller 8, Ashley Bultema/Lindsey Bulich/Emma Martonosi 4, Payton Nichols/Mady Weber 2, Evangelina Helderop/Natasja Terpstra 1.
