The ever-improving Hopkins girls’ basketball team Friday night defeated Kelloggsville 62-29 in an O-K Silver Conference matchup.
Hopkins led at every period stop, jumping out to an 11-7 lead at the end of one and 29-16 at intermission. The Lady Vikings were up 40-22 at the start of the fourth quarter and pulled away by even more the rest of the way.
Senior Bailey Ballard paced a balanced offensive attack with 13 points. Chloe DeVries and Taylor Marcellus-Clairmount both added nine and Heidi Gilder and Meghan Schulz had eight points apiece.
The Lady Vikings, now 7-10 overall, will begin Class B district tournament play at Allegan next week Wednesday against either Allegan or Plainwell.
