The Hopkins volleyball team Saturday reeled off three victories in a row before finally bowing in the semifinal round in the Nikki Blatter Memorial Invitational in Homer.
Coach Terri Wisser said, “The team played well and lost a very close match in the semifinals to Hillsdale Academy.”
Hopkins defeated White Pigeon 25-17, 25-13, 25-6; Litchfield 25-10, 25-10, 25-12; Burr Oak 25-23, 25-12, but then lost to Hillsdale Academy 26-24, 25-27, 15-13.
Leading the Lady Vikings in individual statistics were:
• Kills – Corrie Wisser 39, Mady Weber 36, Kate Cleypool 34, Lilly Iciek 13, Peyton Roxbury/Lyla Reynolds 7.
• Assists – Corrie Wisser 88, Ellie Sebright 16.
• Aces – Corrie Wisser 18, Ellie Sebright 10, Mady Weber 8, Kate Cleypool 7, Kylee Sykes 5.
• locks – Lilly Iciek/Peyton Roxbury/Lyla Reynolds/Kate Cleypool 3, Corrie Wisser 2, Mady Weber 1.
• Digs – Corrie Wisser 49, Ellie Sebright 44, Kate Cleypool 29, Mady Weber 22, Kylee Sykes 8.
Hopkins owns a 4-0 record in O-K Silver Conference dual matches this season and overall is now
19-7-4.
