The Hopkins girls’ basketball squad absorbed its third consecutive loss of the young season Tuesday evening after winning its first encounter at Martin Nov. 30.
Meanwhile, the Hopkins boys dropped a 63-56 decision to the Hawkeyes on Hamilton’s floor in a nonleague ballgame.
The Vikings lost a 44-39 non-league contest to Hamilton on their home floor. They trailed 17-7 and 25-12 after the first two offensively lackluster periods and battled back to close the gap to 31-25 at the end of three.
The Vikings more than doubled their first half offensive output in the second half, but it was too late.
Hopkins now is on holiday break and won’t be back in action until January 2022.
