It’s been a rough last several days for the Hopkins varsity softball team, which started the season with three straight victories, but now sports a 4-3 overall record.
The Lady Vikings lost a nonleague 10-1 ballgameto Holland Christian last Thursday before going 1-2 in the Holland Invitational Saturday. They lost 15-5 to Zeeland East and 10-1 to Fruitport, but defeated Manistee 10-5.
Maddie Schans threw two innings and gave up seven hits, a walk and a strikeout against a hard-hitting Zeeland East squad. Kelsey Dusseau threw three innings and gave up eight hits, 1BB, and 1K.
