The Hopkins softball team scored an important victory Tuesday over O-K Silver Conference rival Grandville Calvin Christian.
The Lady Vikings, who often battle it out for the league title with Calvin, won 9-1, but the second game of the doubleheader was postponed because of impending inclement weather.
Junior Hannah Brinks captured the victory on the mound, going seven innings, giving up six hits, walking two two and striking out seven.
Hopkins collected 15 hits in the contest. Cami Hibma and Jessi Spray both collected three safeties while Brinks and Lila Reynolds both added a couple.
The Lady Vikings now own n 8-5 record overall and are 5-0 in the O-K Silver Conference standings.
