The Hopkins varsity softball team’s debut Tuesday afternoon was cut short to just three innings in its 20-0 rout of Wyoming Godwin Heights.
The Lady Vikings plated 10 runs in each of the first two innings and sophomore Hannah Brinks tossed a three inning shutout, yielding only one hit and striking out seven.
Catcher Lila Reynolds picked up where she left off at the end of last season by drilling three hits and Brinks and Madison Schwartz both had two.
Brinks and Reynolds both collected three runs batted in and Jessica Spray added a couple of RBIs.
Brinks and Ava VanderKolk both had a double and Spray, Reynolds and Kate Steffes each came up with a triple.
