Lady Wildcat Aubree Hodges signs to bowl for Davenport

Aubree Hodges, a senior cHolbrook and Hodgeso-captain of the Wayland girls’ varsity bowling team, became the first Lady Wildcat bowler to sign a letter of intent to compete in the sport at the collegiate level. Hodges, shown here with coach Bill Holbrook, has signed with Davenport University to continue her bowling career.

“I am so excited for her,” Holbrook said. “She has worked very hard for this moment both in the classroom and on lanes. Aubree started bowling her sophomore year at the same time I began as the head coach. She was able to go from never having bowled competitively to two years and three months later, signing to bowl on scholarship with the Davenport Panthers. She is an amazing young lady and I feel fortunate to have had a front row seat in watching her grow and improve.”

Hodges and Lizzy Cobb were the senior co-captains on the O-K Gold/Green championship Lady Wildcats team this season. Wayland was ranked No. 5 in the last Division 2 state poll, but just missed a trip to the state team championship tournament by one place in regionals.
