Wayland High School junior Alicia Sweeney was selected as one of only 15 winners of the Fox Motor Prep Award. The honor is presented to the top 15 girls/boys in the state for having excellence in citizenship, academics and athletic skills. She did not, however, win the drawing for the scholarship, during the evening of celebration. Sweeney was one of the key figures in the wildly successful Lady Wildcats bowling team that was rated No. 5 in the state Division 2 coaches’ poll.
