Lady Wildcats won in dominant fashion, winning both Baker games 140-114 and 146-95.  This was a welcome change being up 10-0 after the Baker Games. Though the Wildcats struggled in their first individual game, their experience was too much for the inexperienced Catholic Central team, winning 709-602 and taking 7 of 9 points.  With a commanding 17-2 lead the ladies finished strong throwing their best team game of the year winning 844-574 and taking the remaining 11 points.

Leading the way were freshman Sydney Urben (161-228=389), sophomore Alicia Sweeney (200-180=380) and Junior Lizzy Cobb (132-161=293).

“It was nice to get back in the swing of things tonight after so many changes to our schedule due to weather and other things out of our control,” said coach Bill Holbrook. “It took a while for the ladies to settle in tonight but they finished strong.”

The Wayland boys’ team had a solid match, winning 26-4 over Catholic Central and putting together Baker games of 196 and 190. The team was able to put in a few of the JV players witch who also had solid performances.

Next up for the Lady Wildcats will be the Rockford Invitational Saturday, Feb. 7, at 12:30 p.m. at Rockford Lanes.
