Both of the Wayland High School qualifiers in the state Division 2 bowling tournament Saturday made it to the Round of 16 match play at Century Lanes in Waterford.
However, both were eliminated in their first matches.
Sophomore Kadence Bottrall entered match play seeded second and teammate junior Isabella Harnish was 12th.
“A couple of ninth-place finishes by them is nothing to hold your head down about,” said coach Eric Bottrall. “They will both be back next year!”
Kadence entered the competition as regional champion and she was the top individual roller for the O-K Gold Conference for the second season in a row.
