The Wayland girls’ varsity basketball team has been declared O-K Conference champion for an abbreviated and bizarre season. The Lady Wildcats compiled an 8-1 record in league play and had a boatload of ballgames canceled by the Coronavirus pandemic. They suffered one loss, to Forest Hills Eastern, but runner-up Grand Rapids Catholic Central had three losses and South Christian had four. Wayland will play in the semifinals Wednesday evening of the district Division 2 tournament on its home court against West Michigan Aviation Academy.
