Wayland High School freshman harrier Olivia Barabas finished in fifth place Thursday at the Allegan County meet to earn all-county accolades.

The Wayland girls’ team finished fourth with 94 points in the meet and Hopkins checked in sixth with 141. The Wayland boys also were fifth and Hopkins, without injured ace senior Todd Henley, did not field a team of five runners.

Barabas checked in with a time of 20:38.88 to to claim fifth. Plainwell senior Makenna Veen won it with a blistering 5K time of 19:19.88 at the Michigan Motor Sports Park just south of Martin.

Teammate Hannah Smith placed 17^th, Gracie Hasse 19^th, Naomi Oosterhouse 26^th and Serenna VanHouten 31^st.

Freshman Hannah Fisher paced the Lady Vikings in 24^th place, Alyssa Beilby was 25^th, Joy Athearn 33^rd, Arianna DeGroot 34^th and Alexis Zalis 37^th.

Freshman Travis Koon paced the Wildcat boys again with a time of 19:10.5, good for 27^th. Ian Russell was 36^th, Steven Mosher 42^nd, Samuel Garheden 46^th and Devin Weaver 48th.

Adam Ball led Hopkins at 19:53 in 38^th, Zachary Wisser 50^th, Dean Heiden 67^th and Andrew Hazen 68^th.

The Hopkins boys and girls, as well as the Wayland squads, will compete in the Division 2 regionals at Portage Central on Saturday, Oct. 26.
