The Wayland girls’ golf team earlier this month started its season by finishing fourth in the eight-team Zeeland Invitational at the Ottawa Hills golf club.
The Wildcats were led by Lauren Drew, who finished seventh overall with a nine-hole score of 45. Abby Omness shot a 47 and finished in a tie for 10th.
Zeeland West won the competition with a team score of 193, followed closely by Zeeland East with a 194 and Hamilton a 196. Wayland carded a team score of 206.
The Lady Wildcats, coached by Chris Drew, today (Friday, Aug. 25) are participating in the Thornapple Kellogg Invitational.
