The Wayland High School junior varsity golf team made history Tuesday afternoon at the Orchard Hills Golf Course by beating Caledonia 218 to 238.
The win left the Lady Wildcat jayvees with an undefeated dual meet season with a 12-0 record.
Captains Ashleigh Graham and Faith Stid, along with the rest of the team, Rylee Huston, Amaya Troung, Summer Morrison, Claira Vandenburg, Ashlyn Barrett and Josie Melinn completed the unblemished season.
Graham had a par on her way to being the medalist for the evening with a nine-hole score of 50. Amaya Troung and Josie Melinn also had pars in their rounds and Josie went on to have the second best round. Summer Morrison had a new personal best and tied with Faith Stid for one of the scoring rounds of 60. Claira Vandenburg was a scorer as well with a 55.
“These ladies have all contributed throughout the season to make this a very special season and a record year of JV golf,” said coach Rick Brown.
