WHS girls golfThe Wayland girls’ golf team placed fourth at the second O-K Gold Jamboree of the season at the Hastings Country Club.

Senior all-state ace Ali Martus made it seven matches in a row scoring below 40 for nine holes or below 80 for 18 holes. She carded a 39 to take individual medalist honors, also for the seventh consecutive time.

Wayland had a team score of 210, five strokes behind third-place Grand Rapids Catholic Central. South Christian won with a 183, two strokes better than host Hastings. Middleville Thornapple Kellogg checked in with a 262.

The Lady Wildcats will be back on the home links at Orchard Hills Golf Course in Shelbyville with a non-conference match Monday afternoon against Hamilton.
