Lady Wildcats capture 13th straight Gold softball title

The Wayland girls’ varsity softball team captured their 13th consecutive O-K Gold Conference crown Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills. The Lady Wildcats have won or shared the last 13 league championships, having been forced to tie for the title with South Christian a couple of years ago. They went through league play this spring with a perfect 10-0 record, despite suffering heavy graduation losses from their state Division championship squad in 2015.
