The Wayland High School varsity volleyball team Tuesday evening defeated Cedar Spring in three straight sets in the first round of the O-K Gold Conference tournament.
The Lady Wildcats took the contests by scores of 25-11, 25-16 and 25-15 to advance to the second round next Tuesday night. They were seeded at No. 2 with a 6-1 dual match record while Cedar was seeded seventh.
Wayland has lost only one in league play, to top-seeded Grand Rapids Catholic Central.
