Lady Wildcats lose in quarterfinals at Grandville Invitational

The Wayland varsity volleyball twhs-volleyballeam lost in the quarterfinal round of the Grandville Invitational Saturday to the host school.

The Lady Wildcats lost in the quarterfinals of the Gold Bracket of the tourney, 25-19, 25-19.

Wayland won two of its five matches during the day, beating Muskegon Reeths Puffer and Portland and losing to Byron Center, Caledonia and Grandville.

Leading the Wildcats were in individual statistical departments were Leigha Morse with 42 digs, 49, assists, 14 kills, and 6 aces; Haleigh Adrianse with 17 kills; Taryn Coughlin, 18 kills; Chloe Coughlin , 3 blocks and 11 kills, and Abby Merice, 35 digs and 4 aces.

The Lady Wildcats are now 11-7-3 overall for the season. They will resume O-K Gold Conference action Thursday evening at Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.
