The Wayland girls’ varsity basketball team Tuesday night evened its O-K Gold Conference record at 5-5 and moved to 12-6 overall with a 43-27 victory at Forest Hills Eastern.

The boys’ varsity, however, fell to 0-17 with a 78-50 loss to the Hawks later in the evening.

The Lady Wildcats won without the services of their point guard and No. 2 scorer, Parrish Hudson, who missed her second consecutive game because of a concussion she suffered against Wyoming a week ago.

Stepping up in Hudson’s absence were freshman guard Maddy Terry, who scored 11 points, Kenzie Wolf, who has seven and Emma Ludema who added five.

Junior pivot Stephanie Ainsworth again was the Wildcat’s top scorer with 13 points.

Both Wildcat squads will play Friday night at home against South Christian.
