The Wayland varsity volleyball team moved its O-K Gold Conference dual match record to 3-0 Thursday evening with a thrilling five-set victory over traditional rival South Christian.

The Lady Wildcats, enjoying the privilege of being the first Wayland varsity team to play on the newly refurbished gym floor, prevailed over the Sailors 30-32, 25-20, 25-22, 23-25 and 15-10.

The ‘Cats have defeated Kenowa Hills, Ottawa Hills and now South Christian in league play thus far. They’ll play in the West Ottawa Invitational Saturday and then resume O-K Gold action Tuesday at Grand Rapids Catholic Central.
