The Wayland girls’ basketball team concluded its regular season Thursday night with a 54-46 loss at Cedar Springs.
It was a battle for second place in the final O-K Gold Conference standings. Cedar captured the runner-up slot with an 11-3 record and Wayland ended up at 10-4. Grand Rapids Catholic Central won the league championship with a 13-1 mark.
The Lady Wildcats lost to Cedar Springs at home last month, 61-60, on their home court and lost twice, once also in overtime, to Catholic Central. Their overall record was 14-8 and they will face Grand Rapids South Christian Wednesday in the Division 2 semifinals on the Sailors’ court.

The ‘Cats managed to sink only two three-point field goals, one each by Laker and another senior Ava Makowski.
