The Wayland girls‘ track team finished fifth Saturday at the 50th annual Frank Grimm Relays at Wyoming High School. Zeeland West won the meet and Rockford was runner-up.
The dynamic duo of Brooke Mulder and McKenna Dutkiewicz placed third in the shot put and second in the discus. Brooke threw 84’06” in the disc and 29’06” in the shot. McKenna threw 74’7″ in the disc and 26’02” in the shot.
Jazmyn Santos and Grace Chandler finished fifth in the high jump.
In the running events, Lauren Spencer and Hannah Damveld teamed up with Lee Anderson and Coby Dressler in the shuttle hurdles to finish third in 1:07.84.
The 6400 relay of Maggie Whitney, Zoe Antel, Mickayla Kohtz, and Kaitlyn Paul finished third with a combined time of 25:04.84.
The 2000 relay of Anna Fifelski, Savannah Hudson, Samantha Sager, Katie Andrews and Lorin Snyder finished in 7:20.3. The SMR of Samantha Berends (400), Jenae Mutschler (200), Lauren Spencer (200), and Makaila Huffman (400) ran a time of 3:25.03.
The distance medley relay team of Kohtz, Damveld, Paul and Whitney finished fourth in a time of 14:54.66.
The 800 relay of Renae Mutschler, Bilger, Spencer, and Santos finished in a time of 2:01.63.
The 4 x 800 team finished fifth with a time of 11:56.47 included Whitney, Kohtz, Paul and Riley Shepherd.
The 1600 relay finished 5th in 5:09.8 was comprised of Shepherd, Hasse, Huffman and Kohtz.
Mutschler, Bilger, Spencer and Santos finished fifth in the 400 relay with a time of 56.69.
The Wildcats travel to Hastings for a dual meet on Wednesday, April 27.
