The Wayland girls‘ soccer team kicked off district play Tuesday evening with a 10-0 victory over host Battle Creek Central.

Goals were scored by Brinley Nieuwenhuis (five), Jackie Richardson (two), Amanda Brown, Mckenna Bruin, and Abigail Tuinstra. Assists were recorded by Amanda Brown (four), Ashlyn Schafer, Abigail Tuinstra, Kennedy Thelen, Jackie Richarson and Hannah Damveld.

The Lady Wildcats, now 13-6 for the season overall, travel to Hastings Thursday night for a district semifinal showdown with  kickoff at 7 p.m., following TK vs Plainwell game at 5.
