The Wayland High School varsity volleyball team tuned up for its approaching showdown with Grand Rapids Catholic Central by defeating non-conference foe Wyoming Thursday evening.

The Lady Wildcats won on the road in three sets by scores of 25-5, 25-13 and 25-17.

Wayland will do battle with Catholic Central Tuesday evening with the league tournament championship on the line. The ‘Cats finished the regular season with a second place record of 6-1 and were beaten only by Catholic Central. Both teams sailed through the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the tourney, with the Wildcats besting Cedar Springs and then South Christian.
