The Martin boys’ varsity basketball team claimed its third straight victory this season without a loss by defeating Eau Claire 58-37.
Senior Tanner Curry pumped in 31 points and in the process scored his 1,000 career point. Curry joined the Clippers’ varsity as a freshman.
Martin established itself early by taking a 15-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter and really opened up the ballgame in the next eight minutes to lead 34-16 at intermission. The Clippers were not threatened afterward.
Backing Curry’s huge offensive effort was sophomore Carter Hilton with 15 points, as the two big men dominated inside. Curry gathered 14 rebounds and younger brother Cayden Curry had six, as did Hilton. Both of the Curry boys dished out three assists.
Jomel Armstead led the Beavers with a dozen points.
