The Martin boys’ varsity basketball team will begin the winter 2018 portion of the season with an overall record of 1-4 after a 66-55 defeat suffered Tuesday at the hands of neighborhood rival Delton.
The Clippers put up a valiant effort that ultimately came up short. They trailed 28-24 at the half. Leading the charge to keep it close in the first 16 minutes were Carter Hilton, Cayden Curry, and Canton Vandenberg.
Martin boys will be in action on the hardcourt next at Fennville at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5. The Lady Clippers will take on the Blackhawks on the latters’ floor at 6 p.m.
