The Delton-Martin varsity golf team finished third at the 10-team Schoolcraft Invitational at Old Mill earlier this week.

Team score of 363 lead by Tanner Janowski with an 84, good enough for second overall and Alejandro Guevara of Martin with an 86.

“These two seniors have been our most consistent all year long,” said coach Jim Hogoboom.

The squad played its final divisional Jamboree at Milham and finished fourth behind the big three of Hackett- Kalamazoo Christian and Schoolcraft. This was the same order of finish when both divisions came together at the SAC Championship at Hawkshead in South Haven.

Tanner Janowski shot an 85 which placed eighth overall in the league. All top 10 scorers in the league meet were from the Valley Division.

Next match is Wednesday, May 29, in the Regional at Old Mill “and our guys are in the hunt to advance to the state meet if we can post similar scores as our last couple of weeks,” Hogoboom added.

In the final JV match, Javier Guevara of Martin and Ethan Reed teamed up to place fifth out of 60 teams in a two-man scramble format at Eastern Hills, shooting a 78.
