Martin High School’s cross-country team braved a rainy day and muddy course in Bloomingdale Saturday. If Martin would have field a full team of five runners, it could have had a chance to win the contest.
Freshman Veyda Conley, who owns the school record for a five-kilometer race, scored her first high school cross country individual victory by more than 90 seconds. Teammate Emily King fished a strong sixth, Lauren Taylor was 18th and Kayden Jager 21st. All were medal winners.
Alex Morin ran one of his strongest races of the year, finishing 12th and earning a medal. Hunter Hayes was 51st.
The Clippers will run next Friday at the Allegan County meet at the US-131 Motor Sports Park.
