Wayland senior Dylan Pallett, Martin sophomore Veyda Conley and senior Alex Morin Saturday qualified for the state cross-country meet Nov. 2 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
Pallett, running in the Division 2 regional meet at South Christian’s athletic complex, placed 12th in the individual competition with a 5K time of 16:13.99. The top 15 individual harriers qualify to the state meet.
Conley was running at Allendale, where she checked in third with a time of just under 20 minutes, 19:59.01, the second time this fall she has reached that threshold. Meanwhile, the Lady Clippers finished second behind Gobles to qualify as a team and Morin checked in with a 17:41.04 to finish 11th among the guys.
Finishing behind Pallet in their last race of the season were Alberto Manujando, 50th in 18:10.63, Ethan Manning 52nd in 18:16.42, Mason Fein, 59th in 18:33.15, and Arquimedes Miguel-Garcia, 93rd in 22:28.64. The boys’ squad came in 11th.
Running for the Wildcat girls’ team, which finished 14th, were freshman Abree VanDenBrink, 46th in 21:29.6, Ashley Larson 60th, Megan Stack 78th, Sarah Osborn 82nd and Help Ryhaenen 89th.
Following Conley for the Martin girls were freshman Allison Rodgers 11th in 22:02.92, freshman DuRae Sage 14th in 22:19.78, sophomore Sara Schipper 16th in 22:30.23, and senior Emily King, 19th in 22:48.37.
Martin’s Jacob Dettmann was 33rd in 19:24.47, Jeremiah VanHouten was 40th, Hunter Hayes 46th and Nicholas Aguiano-Cruz 73rd.
