The Martin track teams were hosts to Kalamazoo Hackett and Galesburg-Augusta Wednesday. The boys bested Galesburg, but the girls lost to both opponents.
First place efforts were registered for the boys with Taegan Harris in the high jump, J.R. Hildebrand in both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles, 17.24 and 43.26, respectively, James Blackburn in the long jump at 19-9 and Haylen Buell in the pole vault at 8-6.
The Clippers’ 1600-meter relay with James Blackburn, Sam Jager, Gavin Meyers and Harris were edged at the finish line by Hackett with a margin of just 55-hundredths of a second.
Adding second place finishes were Harris in the 100-meter dash and, 400-meter run, Meyers in the 800, Blackburn in the 100-meter hurdles and Logan Kent third and second in the 300 hurdles.
Kyia Bozzo was first in the 100-meter hurdles. Makala Goddard was second and Elly Blackburn third. Blackburn, Noa Martin Espinosa, Emily King and Tory Harris hooked up for a first in the 1600 relay at 4:49.23.
Lynsey Jager was second in the shot put, but first in the discus throw at 95-0, by 19 feet.
Avery Jager took the high jump at 4-8 and Elizabeth Reinke won the pole vault at 7-0. Makala Goddard was second in the 300-meter hurdles and Emily King second in 800.
