Martin will take on a familiar foe Saturday afternoon in the second round of the post-season eight-man football playoffs.
The Clippers will meet defending state champion Adrian Lenawee Christian, which eliminated them in their last two seasons in the playoffs. The Cougars prevailed 36-14 last fall and won 47-12 in a delayed January 2021 matchup.
But there’s a twist this time. Martin will be the home team after having to make the long trip for the last two meetings. Kickoff is supposed to be at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Both teams will take an 8-2 record into the ballgame. Lenawee Christian was defeated this season by Colon and by Climax-Scotts.
