The Martin High School wrestling team won the district team championship Wednesday night by defeating Gobles 45-23. and Bangor 63-12.

Martin won all but one of its matches by fall. All of Bangor’s 12 points came from forfeits late in the match. 

Winners for Martin were Logan Gilbert, Cole Reitz, Jayce Ritchie, Haylen Buell, Seth Toris, Jack Bagwell, Anderson Keeler, Joshua Walman, Malcolm Smith, Jonathan Owen and Kristian Heighton.

Martin now advances to the White Pigeon regional tournament next week against Decatur. The other teams in the bracket are White Pigeon and Eau Claire. The competition will get under way either Wednesday, Feb. 14, or Thursday, Feb. 15.

Individual districts are Saturday (Feb. 11) at Schoolcraft.
