Martin High School’s football game at Lawrence Friday evening was canceled because of Covid-19 exposure in the Clippers’ program.

It was supposed to be the Tigers’ homecoming game, but it has been called off as well.

Meanwhile, the Wayland varsity football team absorbed its 16th consecutive defeat over the past three seasons, 35-0 to visiting Forest Hills Eastern. Ironically, Forest Hills was the last team the Wildcats defeated, in 2018.

Wayland now is 0-4 overall for the season.

The homecoming ceremony planned for Friday night was postponed until Friday night, Oct. 23, in a Parents Night contest against Ottawa Hills.
