The amazing Martus streAli puttingak was extended to 10 Thursday afternoon and the Wayland girls’ golf team took a nonleague match from Zeeland West at the Crestview Golf Course.

All-state senior ace Ali Martus made it in a row for breaking 40 on nine holes or 80 for 18 holes by shooting a sizzling 37 for the second straight day. Of course, she was individual medalist for the competition, as she has been all season.

But other good things happened on the Girls-Golfcourse as well, as Hunter Fenton came up with a career-best 45, which was the second best individual score of the day. Also figuring in the scoring were Lauren Drew with a 56 and Alxis Kirschbaum with a 58, an off day for her, as she usually is second on the team and often has shot in the mid- to high 40s.

Wayland plays Friday at the Thornapple Kellogg Middleville Invitational at Yankee Springs Golf course. The Lady Wildcats were there Wednesday for an O-K Gold Conference jamboree in which they tied for second place.
