Victor D. Brenner died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 11.
Victor never met a stranger. He had a gift for conversation and could make a friend wherever he went, often finding common ground through his many hobbies and interests. He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, especially time spent outdoors hunting, fishing, mushrooming, or “watching God’s creation grow,” as he would say while admiring his garden and animals.
Before health issues forced his retirement, he earned his living in the auction business, where his natural talent as an auctioneer and quick wit made him well-known. He had a passion for standardbred racehorses and, in recent years, developed a love for show pigs.
Though Victor had no children of his own, he was a devoted and ever-present uncle. He passed down his love of animals and agriculture to his nieces, and, with his nephews, he cherished listening to them play guitar, auctioneer, tell jokes, and join him on spontaneous trips to look at livestock.
Victor was a faithful Christian. Despite facing several major surgeries in recent years, he remained positive and unafraid right up to his final day. He loved giving gifts, often food, and made his last donut deliveries around town on Friday morning.
Victor is survived by his siblings Allen (Nancy) Brenner, Vickie (Mick) Moomey, Burl Brenner, Becky (Dan) Billings, and Pam (Lee) Mendez, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Brenner; brother, Randy Brenner; and many other beloved family members.
