Viking boys capture 3rd consecutive hoops win

Hopkins’ boys’ basketball team Monday evening claimed its third straight triumph after that 0-5 start to the season, and in the process now owns a 2-0 record in the latest O-K Silver Conference standings. The Vikings had no trouble subduing visiting Wyoming Lee 51-15 in a makeup of a snowed out ballgame from Jan. 9.

City officials vote to get the ball rolling on new public safety building

The Wayland City Council Monday night agreed to pat $7,500 to In-form Architects of Kalamazoo for planning the design of a public safety building on Reno Drive near the industrial park.
