One of Presley Hudson’s honors at CMU was the prestigious Dick Enberg Award.

Wayland High School and Central Michigan University basketball star Presley Hudson has been named director of player development and basketball operations for Western Michigan University.

Hudson’s duties will include monitoring academic progress of student-athletes while helping with travel plans for the team and coaches. She also will organize and manage team managers, organize film for scouting, assist with on-campus visits and organize community service activities for the team and coaches.

Hudson, daughter of longtime WHS basketball coach Mike Hudson and sister to former Wayland stars Wes, Avery and Ternor Hudson, set a record in career scoring for Central Michigan with 2,309 points, a record 643 assists, three-point field goals (407) and free-throw percentage (.924).

She finished her senior year as the individual NCAA champion in free throw percentage and was the champion, regardless of male or female in a three-point shooting contest. She is one of six players in NCAA Division I history to make more than 400 three-point field goal attempts.

At Wayland High School, she scored more than 1,000 career points, was named to the Division II all-state team and was runner-up in the balloting for the coveted state-wide Miss Basketball Award. She also led the Wildcats to district and regional titles.
Her sister, Parish, is a starting senior on this year’s Wayland girls’ varsity while brother Wes is head coach.
