Wayland High School graduate Presley Hudson has been elevated to assistant women’s basketball coach at Central Michigan University.

Hudson, who owns CMU records for career and individual game scoring scoring, assists and free throw percentage, helped the Chippewas go as far as regionals in the NCAA post-season tournament, beating Big 10 champion Ohio. State in the district finals. She took the CMU position of director of player development last spring.

Heather Oesterle, head coach, said, “Since joining our staff this spring, Presley has put in the work and shown tremendous dedication to our program and players. She’s earned this opportunity through her hard work, and I’m excited to watch her continue to learn and grow in this new role.”

Hudson, daughter of former Wayland varsity basketball coach Mike Hudson and sister of Lady Wildcats’ coach Wes Hudson, also owns records for her prep career. She was national collegiate free throw shooting champ at 94.3% and won, regardless of gender, the national three-point shooting contest in 2019.
